News and Notes
- Sweet Moses, have I mentioned how fantastic Dexter is? (A check of the archive says yes, I have, but it bears repeating). Sunday's penultimate episode of Season Four was a 9 out of 10 on the clutch-the-arms-of-the-couch scale. And from the looks of it, the season finale is going to be a 30. John Lithgow has been incredible in his season-long role as the Trinity Killer.
- Unless I lose by about 100 points next week, I have clinched my fantasy football division. My team isn't bad, and given the amount of luck involved in a head-to-head league, I feel like anyone who makes the playoffs has a shot at the title.
- There isn't much to say about the Steelers. To quote everyone on Earth: "It is what it is."
- I'm using up my final three vacation days of the year on Thursday, Friday and Monday. No major plans for the five-day weekend except to entertain several home repair types. No matter how high we set our thermostat, our house is holding steady at a less-than-ideal 61 degrees. Given that it's our first winter in the house, a furnace check seems in order.
