Fearing the gentle sea cow?
For quite a number of years, the Pirates have played Manatee Community College the day before officially kicking off the Grapefruit League season.
Well, yesterday was the spring opener against the Phillies. But where was the MCC game?
I went online and discovered that they will be playing the college kids this year -- but the game has suspiciously been moved to April 2. After the Bucs are fully tuned up for the regular season.
Was the team brass worried that the lowly Pirates were in danger of suffering a humiliating loss that would garner national attention??
Should we be afraid? Should we be very afraid??
