A Football Night in Pittsburgh

Years ago, while talking to scalpers outside Three Rivers Stadium, my Dad taught me a very important lesson about how to get cheap tickets to stuff: Wait until the last minute, and be willing to skip the event altogether.

Obviously it's not always what you want to do. If you really want to see a concert or game, you're not going to risk that.

But last night around 6 PM, I went on Ebay and got field-level, 40-yard-line Steeler tickets for $50 each. Kinda crazy. The seats were in Section 111, Row N. It seems that future tickets there are already being bid on for $250+ each.

Now, I'm not sure if you can find these last-minute bargains regularly, or if it was a combination of the sucky Bengals, predicted snow, and the fact that it was a weeknight. But either way, the last-minute method worked like a charm.

It was cold, but Emily was able to experience a Steeler game in person, which she'd been wanting to do. She probably won't feel the need to ever do it again, but still, it was fun! Now back to the warmth of the living room for future games.
