Veepstakes
Heard scuttlebutt on the TV that McCain might announce his running mate in the midst of Obama's World Tour 2K8. Makes sense.
Got me wondering about when other nominees have chosen their running mates. I had a feeling that Kerry's decision had come earlier than most (and I was right).
Here is a list of recent selections and the dates they were announced:
2004
Kerry picks Edwards -- July 6.
2000
Bush picks Cheney -- July 25.
Gore picks Willie Tanner -- August 7.
1996
Dole picks Kemp -- August 10.
1992
Clinton picks Gore -- July 10.
