The sad parting delusions of Thomas DeLay

The disgraced piece of dung clung, until the end, to the notion that it was liberalism that brought him down. And he bashed said "liberalism" in his sad little farewell address:

In any place or any time on any issue, what does liberalism ever seek, Mr. Speaker? More -- more government, more taxation, more control over people's lives and decisions and wallets. If conservatives don't stand up to liberalism, no one will. And for a long time around here, almost no one did.
Whoa, Nelly! Is Tom talking about today's conservatives?

More government? CHECK! Having replaced the fiscally responsible Clinton Democrats, conservatives support the undisputed "go-to party" for big government and out-of-control deficit spending.

More control over people's lives and decisions? CHECK! Conservatives are the folks to call if you need to have your private, end-of-life decision meddled with by the government. Or if you need a reproductive decision made for you. Or if you need to make sure nothing "offensive" is on television -- like a naked human being. Or even if you need to know who you can marry! Nobody meddles with your life like today's conservative Republican.

Nobody's buying it, Tom. Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.
