From near-worst to first
An update on my Jason Bay story from last week: Pirates fans have done it! With a few days to go in the fan balloting, Bay is the top vote-getter among National League outfielders for the 2006 All-Star game, to be played in Pittsburgh.
Other Pirates have been swept up by the Bucco fans' voting frenzy as well: Jack Wilson is now barely behind the Mets' Jose Reyes, and could end up starting at shortstop!
Unbelievable job by devoted fans of a team that's playing truly horrific baseball.
