Strange logic...

Ask your average Limbaugh listener about the recent civil liberties flaps, and they'll probably tell you the government should track phone conversations, log phone calls, etc., because we're at war. And who cares if it's sloppily done? Trust the government that they're not spying on you. The delicate balance between law enforcement and civil liberties must bend and change with the times. Must bend rules. Must save lives. Must believe in the judgment calls of law enforcement officials.

Then there's this story.

It seems taking stolen guns away in the post-Katrina chaos was unforgivable! In this case, there should have been no bending under special circumstances. No saving lives! No trusting the government! No abiding by the judgment calls of police!
