One of the dumber right-wing commentaries ever

...by talk show host Mark Levin.

His diatribe focuses on the "double standard" regarding Patrick Kennedy's recent troubles and Limbaugh's painkiller addiction.

He innocently wonders: how come people laughed at Rush and called him names... yet wished Kennedy well? He's "angry at the double standard!" Read on!

You will hear people say that [Kennedy] is addicted, he has a serious health problem, he deserves to be praised for his forthrightness today, and we should leave him alone. And many of these commentators will be the same people who were giddy in their ceaseless attacks on Rush.
Golly! Could it have anything to do with the fact that Rush spent two decades calling drug addicts criminal scum and feeling no sympathy for them? Blaming them for all kinds of problems, only to find out he's one of them? Had Patrick Kennedy had done the same, I'd happily mock him too.

I wonder if people like Levin are actually as stupid as they appear, or if they're snickering as they write -- completely aware that their ridiculous "arguments" will rile up their brainless minions.
