I. Lewis Libby do solemnly swear

Over at PowerLine, they're admitting how grim Scooter Libby's indictment looks, but then flailing about trying to downplay Libby's importance.

To that end, they ask this brilliant question: "I couldn't help wondering: does anyone remember who Al Gore's chief of staff was when he was vice-president?"

Probably not. Because he wasn't fucking indicted!

They're basically trying to say that the media (yawn) is blowing this up and making Libby into a more central figure than he was. But to compare him to Gore's top aide is just hilarious. Libby's obviously a far more important figure to this administration than Gore's top aide was to Clinton. Cheney has unprecedented power and influence. Gore went on trips Clinton didn't want to go on, like a normal VP.
