Remember....
Conservatives love the free market, deregulation, and individual and parental responsibility. Except in "special cases," one of which is media and entertainment.
Sure, uneducated and low-income people can handle privatized social security. Don't be silly! But when it comes to TV, movies, video games, and any other form of pop culture, we're incapable of teaching our kids right from wrong, and someone needs to do something, dammit!
That link is to a study on MTV programming by ultraconservative Brent Bozell & the Parents Television Council. It's not a coincidence, I'm sure, that MTV is his latest target. The attack serves a second purpose, since MTV is active in political stuff and works to get young people to the polls -- and Brent certainly doesn't want that!
