Oh, those "liberal" networks!
The men in charge of CBS (Viacom) and NBC both endorsed President Bush. So should we really be surprised that these two networks are refusing to run this ad from the United Church of Christ?
The spot -- with the clearly evil and liberal title: "Jesus didn't turn people away; neither do we" -- seeks to show that unlike some churches, UCC will accept parishioners regardless of age, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, etc. Again, real evil stuff. The story above contains a link to both the commercial itself and the networks' ridiculous statement about rejecting it. Check it out.
I'm sorry, but it's not possible that they're actually worried people will not want to see this ad. The networks are simply whipping boys of -- and often in agreement with -- the extreme FCC, the religious right, and the Bush Administration.
