7-1!
I'm running out of superlatives for the Steelers. How can I not start to entertain Super Bowl dreams when they beat two teams like the Patriots and Eagles -- that definitively -- in a two-week span? The numbers today were staggering. Just a few:
* Eagles 0 for 8 on third down
* Yardage: 420 to 111
* First downs: 25 to 7
* Rush Yards: 252 to 23 (over the past two games, the Steelers have yieled just 28 total rushing yards)
* Time of Possession: an incredible 41:49 to 18:11.
In short, this was never really a game.
One down note, though -- legendary Steeler broadcaster Myron Cope was taken to the hospital at halftime. Something having to do with a head injury suffered yesterday. That's all I know. I'm sure the details will come out tomorrow.
