Snoop's latest efforts
I can't decide whether he's shrewdly rebranding himself, or just keeping his career alive by throwing all manner of shit to the wall to see what sticks. Either way, our old pal Snoop Dogg seems to be on a mission lately.
Some of it's good, some not so good, some TBA. For instance:
I assume Snoop, Dre, and other mid-90's rap and hip-hop stars are to today's fans what Run DMC was in the 90's. Which is to say, not so relevant. So I generally support Snoop as he tries to stay current. People generally seem to like him, so why not?

- He's teamed up with Katy Perry on the current #1 song in the country, the absurdly catchy "California Gurls." (Survey Says: GOOD. This "shiny pop confection," as I saw it referred to somewhere, is ridiculously catchy).
- He did a weird HBO music video tribute to Sookie to wrap up the season opener of True Blood. (Survey Says: LAME. Very).
- He announced this week that he'd like to make a guest appearance on the famed British soap Coronation Street. (Survey Says: HA!)
