Dan Carville and Gobo Begala

Gobo and I were e-mailing/texting as DebateGate was unfolding this afternoon.

He thought Obama's response to McCain wanting to scrap the debate should be, "In a crisis like this, it becomes only more important that the American people get to hear from their candidates exactly how they intend to lead."

Minutes later, Obama said:

"...This is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess."
Score!

My immediate idea for a response was, "Hey, doesn't the fucking President have to be able to multi-task, you jackass?"

Barack voiced the exact same sentiment -- albeit in a far more dignified, family-friendly style:

"Presidents are going to have to deal with more than one thing at a time."
