As much politics as I can stomach
- You're either in favor of anti-terrorism funding in our major cities, or you're with the terrorists. Where does the Bush Administration fall, since they're detouring money away from real terrorist targets, and towards such red state, down-home spots as Omaha Fucking Nebraska? How do we even begin to make sense of this ongoing idiocy?
- U.S. troops are gonna have sensitivity training in the wake of the latest Iraq debacle. Call me insane, but it seems like, "Don't slaughter innocents and then lie about it to your commanding officer" probably should have been covered already. Good lord.
- The Dixie Chicks have not only the #1 country album in the U.S., but the #1 album overall. All the whiny right-wing blathering has simply upped their profile and will put untold millions in their pockets. And in case some folks didn't get it: they were never entirely reliant on the traditional country market, so alienating a few million losers who can't handle an innocuous political comment should never have been a major concern for them. Alienating the right-wing corporation that controls most of what we hear on the radio? Well, yeah, that was a concern. But it's not hurtin' 'em now, despite a lack of play on country stations. Can we move on now?
