I say four more years
Can anyone hazard a guess as to many years a vintage 1999 laptop computer will last if you only turn it on once a year?
I think I'm going to find out. Just cranked up the old Dell laptop to see if it would still boot, a year after the last time I used it. Seems good to go, except for the usual error messages during startup that don't seem to really affect anything.
Surprisingly, after I wrote that Nov. 2004 post, I managed to de-bug the thing for the most part, and it works fine for my very limited purpose: to help me through each April's Rotisserie draft!
